This is our 1967 Ford Galaxie 500 project. It was my wife's first car when she started driving at age 16. It was purchased new by her uncle and by the time my wife was driving age, it had been parked in a corn field for several years. In the late 70's, her father and another uncle pulled it out and put it in a drivable state for her. She drove it for a couple of years and then sold it back to her uncle - the original owner - who then put it in storage for about 12 years. We bought the car for $500.00. The tires, brakes, gas tank (25 gallon!), battery, and water pump were replaced to make the car drivable again. Since then I have overhauled the motor , welded reinforcement metal in the frame, replaced the front suspension , and had the front seat reupholstered. It has a small V8 (289), no power anything, gets lousy gas milage, and is really big... but it's a lot of fun!!
The next major project is the body. It is in fairly good shape but needs some rust repair, dent repair, and repaint.

Here's the classic '67 Ford 289 V8. This tired one has been bored .040 over. It has '74 F150 302 heads, a '71 2 barrel carburetor, high output coil, and high performance ignition wires. Look at all that room! I have to pull the heads again to correct some things I did improperly when I rebuilt the motor. Why is there never enough time to do it right the first time, but always time to do it over? Take look at it from another view.

You're looking at the upper control arm, bushing assembly, and shock absorber assembly that were replaced as part of the front suspension rebuild. Both upper and lower control arms and their ball joints were removed along with the outer tie rod ends. The control arms were sand blasted and painted with a special rust preventative paint and then with black epoxy enamel. The control arm bushings were replaced along with the stabilizer arm bushings and links. The idler arm was also rebuilt. All rubber suspension components were replaced. It looks and handles like new!.
